A security guard was wounded after he was reportedly shot while on duty Thursday afternoon at Punta Bulata in Cauayan, Negros Occidental.

Police identified the victim as 27-year-old Alfie Balo, a resident of the town’s Barangay Inayawan.

In a statement by Balo to Cauayan Municipal police, around 4:00 p.m., while on duty, the gunman, who police are not identifying at the moment, entered his workplace and shot Balo, striking him in the right hand.

The gunman immediately fled after the shooting, while Balo was rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital for treatment.

The suspect is currently being hunted down by Cauayan police./DGB, WDJ
