Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Oscar Albayalde is set to arrive in Negros Occidental today, May 19.
Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) spokesperson, Police Senior Inspector Armilyn Vargas, confirmed Albayalde’s arrival, but did not disclose his exact schedule.
However, she confirmed the PNP chief would be holding a press conference today.
Albayalde was appointed PNP chief after former PNP Director General Ronald dela Rosa retired last month.
Dela Rosa has since assumed the post of Bureau of Corrections chief at the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City.
Meanwhile, the National Police Commission (Napolcom) recently announced the schedule for the Online Examination Application Scheduling System for the PNP entrance and promotional examinations is set for October 21, with application scheduling for the entrance exam scheduled between July 30 and August 3.
Napolcom-Region VI director, Atty. Joseph Celis, noted applications will be on a first come, first serve basis.
“Due to resource constraints, the regional office reserves the right to limit the number of examinees it will accommodate,” he stated./DGB, WDJ
