Executive Assistant Ernesto Pineda, who heads the Market Coordinating and Monitoring Task Force, recently noted prices for dressed chickens have remained steady at P140, despite recent implementation of the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) Law.
He said prices for both produce and agricultural products have not been affected by the law, but recommended consumers shop around when it comes to meat products as prices can vary between markets.
Pineda also said weighing scale inspections will be conducted at Burgos Public Market, Central Market, and Libertad Public Market.
He noted, shoppers can visit the Consumer Welfare Desk, which should be stationed in the markets, for any concerns regarding the quality of goods or vendor attitudes./NC, WDJ
