American singer-songwriter Rockwell Ryan Ripperger, better known as Stephen Speaks, is currently performing throughout Iloilo City as part of his ongoing “Alive To Fight” tour, which kicked off at SM City Iloilo on January 18.
Following a concert at the University of San Agustin gym last night, he will be performing at Saxxy’s Bar and Grill in the Mandurriao district on Sunday, January 21; and at St. Paul University Iloilo the following day.
During a recent courtesy call at Iloilo City Hall, the singer spoke highly of the local food.
“I love your batchoy,” he said. “Its taste is one of a kind.”
“I want to taste more of [the] Iloilo delicacies,” the singer added.
Ripperger noted local acts will be included in his show and called his concerts “an experience you never had before.”
A portion of the proceeds from his concert will go to Tindig Marawi, which seeks to rebuild and rehabilitate Marawi City, following the battle that took place last year between government forces and the Islamic State-backed Maute terror group.
The “Alive To Fight” tour ends with a show at Philippine Army Headquarters in Taguig City./PLL, WDJ
