Isabela Mayor Joselito Malabor yesterday said his municipality will relaunch the Tigkalalag Festival on October 31, scheduled to run until November 2.
Back in August, the mayor initially announced intentions to relaunch the festival, pointing out it had been shelved for the last four years due to a change of local leadership.
He also reiterated previous statements, saying, “It is basic Filipino culture and practically all of us celebrates the occasion.”
The mayor also restated, for this year, part of the celebration will include a cooking contest of native delicacies like suman, puto, among others.
“We will promote our very own native delicacies,” he stressed.
Among the other initial activities lined up for the festival include a photo booth contest, the opening of a local delicacies food festival, and a festival dance contest./WDJ
