Iloilo City Vice Mayor Jose Espinosa III and City Councilor Eduardo Peñaredondo were condemned for remarks made during a recent discussion regarding the establishment of breastfeeding stations, where it is reported the two made sexual jokes, which elicited anger from those gathered and prompted one female member of the media to walk out.

Breastfeeding Ilonggas, Inc. (BFI), a local support group for new mothers, denounced the comments, calling the officials’ comments “disrespectful” and likening them to “verbal harassment.”
Group members said the act of breastfeeding should not be “part of their sex jokes,” explaining breastfeeding is “a natural form of nurturing a child.”
The vice mayor has since apologized and blamed Peñaredondo for initiating the conversation./WDJ
