Department of Energy (DOE) Visayas Supervisor Rey Maleza revealed operations at renewable energy power plants in Negros and Panay have been temporarily halted, clarifying it would not impact plants that are currently in operation.
He said there is presently a problem in transmitting energy from renewable power plants.
Maleza said the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) requested his agency hold future projects.
“It is only temporary until such time that infrastructure will be in place,” he explained.
The DOE official said their actions do not qualify as a “stoppage” and insisted it is only a “temporary halt.”/WDJ
