The Bacolod Traffic Authority (BTAO) expressed difficulties in implementing traffic laws due to a lack of equipment.
BTAO head, Police Superintendent Luisito Acebuche, said they have yet to apprehend any delinquent motorists since the implementation of the Anti-Distracted Driving Act (ADDA) last Thursday, citing the need for high-resolution cameras.
ADDA aims to improve road safety through catching individuals using mobile phones and other devices while driving.
Acebuche, however, said they have managed to apprehend several colorum tricycle operators along Circumferential Road.
The tricycles were later impounded by BTAO.
Acebuche added he is seeking the deputation of BTAO enforcers from the Land Transportation Office, which would give them the power to apprehend traffic violators./WDJ
