Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO) acting director, Police Senior Superintendent Rodlfo Castil, said law enforcement is “making headway” in the campaign against illegal drugs in the province.
In an interview yesterday, Castil said there has been a substantial drop in the supply of illegal drugs entering Negros Occidental.
He stressed, the remaining supply of illicit substances, which enter through ports, are being monitored by relevant agencies associated with the Philippine National Police (PNP).
Castil cited a report from the Hinigaran municipal police where P100,000 worth of shabu was seized from five suspects, who were arrested yesterday morning.
The suspects, whose names were withheld by police, were all residents of Purok Reclamation, Barangay 1, located along the coast of the town.
Meanwhile, Castil reiterated his warning against cops involved in the illegal drug trade.
“It will be dealt with accordingly,” he said.
He admitted there were cops who were relieved due to alleged drug links, adding there could still be a few more.
Castil said he will also continue conducting surprise drug tests at different police stations in the province./WDJ
