Organizers of the ongoing Panaad sa Negros have deployed a monitoring team to ensure Coca-Cola products are kept clear of event site.
Last month, Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr. banned Coca-Cola products from the festival. A move that was supported by Vice Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson and the Negros Occidental Provincial Board through a resolution passed shortly after.
Lucille Gelvolea, acting provincial administrator, yesterday said the team is regularly going around the festival site.
Those caught selling Coca-Cola products are ejected the venue, Gelvolea said.
“Our sponsors are vigilant in making sure that no Coke products are sold during the Panaad Festival,” she added.
Gelvolea also pointed out, “Pepsi is one of our sponsors and they have a certification that they do not use high fructose corn syrup (HFCS) in their products.”/WDJ
