The Ilahas-Bacolod men’s and women’s teams finished in third and second place, respectively, in the 2017 Philippine Open Tchoukball Invitational at the City Sports Club, Ayala Business Park, Cebu City.
In the men’s division, world number one Taiwan defeated the number two Singapore in the final, while Ilahas-Bacolod defeated the Manila Crickets in the consolation game.
Meanwhile, on the women’s side, Ilahas-Bacolod lost to Singapore in the final.
“Whether you came out as the winning team or the last, the best player or the seemingly insignificant, if you played the game with all your heart, you are a champion,” said Tchoukball Association of the Philippines (TAP) President Raymond Jamelo. “We will go home richer because of the new friends we made and, most importantly, we will leave this place a better player, a better team, a better coach, a better referee, a better parent, a better human being.”/WDJ
