A suspected drug dealer from Bacolod City was arrested in a buy-bust operation at a hotel in Iloilo City over the weekend.
Authorities identified the suspect as Mai Grace Galve Beñares of Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City.
Iloilo’s Police Station 1 (PS1) apprehended Beñares, along with five men, identified as Olime Del Prado Dela Cruz, Jeorge Gallego Bacuyani, and Joemar Arcede Montano of Iloilo City; Clarence Gilroy Culjana of Bacolod City; and Venter Bermejo Jereza of La Carlota City.
Beñares is believed to be part of the Beñares-Chua Drug Group that operates throughout Negros island.
Seized in the operation were six sachets of suspected shabu and drug paraphernalia.
Beñares and the five others face charges in violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./WDJ
