The 2017 Philippine Series is set to begin at 5:30 p.m. in Dumaguete City. The event runs until next Wednesday, April 12.
According to Little League of the Philippines District Administrator, Atty. Jose Luis ‘Jolly’ Gomez, the event gives athletes a chance for exposure.
“Oftentimes, one or two talented players on each team are given opportunities for an educational scholarship,” he said.
The teams in the competition will be representing Smokey Mountain, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Negros Occidental, Makati, Mabinay, Kidapawan, South Cotabato, Kiamba and Maitum of General Santos City, Pamplona-Bicol, Batangas, Canlubang, Marikina, Cebu, Barotac-Iloilo, Iloilo Province, Northern Samar, International Little League Association of Manila, Muntinlupa Little League, Tanauan, and Dumaguete./WDJ
