Bacoleño breaks long jump record at national athletics competition

Bacolod City-native Jose Jerry Belibestre captured the gold medal in long jump recently at the Philippine National Open Invitational Athletics Championships in Iligan, Isabela, breaking a 17-year-old record.
The 18-year-old resident of Fortune Towne registered 7.43 meters, surpassing the previous record of 7.41.
His coach Miguel Arca insists Belibestre is capable of jumping 7.53 meters.
Belibestre previously attended Romanito Maravilla National High School and the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos./WDJ
