Following the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) meetings held in Bacolod City last week, the ASEAN Security Task Force (ASTF) released their assessment report, crediting the security agencies in Bacolod City for “tirelessly working in synergy with the local government.”
According to ASTF Commander, Police Director Napoleon Taas, “[ASEAN delegates] will never ever forget Bacolod and the beautiful people of the Philippines.”
Around 50 delegates from 10 countries attended the 15th meeting of ASEAN Senior Officials Responsible for Information (SOMRI) at the SMX Convention Center last week. Throughout the meeting period, from March 21 to 23, the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) reported zero incidents.
Previously, Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia cited Cecilia Villanueva of the National Organizing Committee, saying the city was already being considered for a future ASEAN meeting./WDJ
