Central Negros Electric Cooperative, Inc. (Ceneco) President Arnel Lapore said they are mulling the idea of a power rate rollback of P0.75 per kilowatt-hour (kWh).
It was recently reported the co-op will be increasing power rates for March 2017 by over P1.50, from P9.5038/kWh in the previous month to P11.1669/kWh, a difference of P1.6631/kWh.
Prior to January 2017, rates were at P8.0756/kWh. Since then, consumer-members have been hit with rate hikes of over P3/kWh.
Before the January hikes were announced, Ceneco General Manager Sulpicio Lagarde, Jr. projected, “I don’t see any increase yet in the coming month.”/WDJ
