The Bacolod Basketball Club (BBC) defeated Capitol, 89-83, earning a spot in the semifinals of the ongoing Toby’s Sports Bacolod Inter-Barkada Basketball Tournament at the STI-West Negros University gym.
Capitol took an early 22-16 lead, however, BBC rallied to a slim 43-42 halftime lead.
After the break, BBC went on a 20-13 run and continued to hold the momentum throughout the third.
Marvin Tan led the victors with 14 points, followed by Allan Jaena with 12 and Ronan Batralo adding 10.
Despite the loss, RR dela Cruz delivered a massive 26 points for Capitol, alongside Luigi Ohoylan with 16 and Jeff Maningo with 14.
In the other quarterfinal, POC defeated Akasya, 88-78, with Eldric Go leading the win with 16 points, followed by Darwyn Sadie with 13, and Leif Baldonebro and Demm de Leon each delivering 11 points.
Akasya also put on an impressive display, with Miggy Puentevella scoring 27 points, followed by Japhet Cua with 15 and Carlo Pelingon with 12./WDJ
