A female student was allegedly raped by a tricycle driver in Victorias City, late Thursday evening.
In an interview with Aksyon Radyo-Bacolod, Victorias City police chief, Police Superintendent German Garbosa, withheld the identity of the 20-year-old victim, but confirmed she is a resident of the said city.
Garbosa said the victim boarded a tricycle at the city’s public plaza after celebrating an event.
However, instead of bringing the student home, the tricycle driver took her to a dark area, where she was allegedly raped.
The suspect later brought the victim near her house and left.
A follow-up operation resulted in the arrest of the suspect, whose identity was also withheld.
Police found several blood stains on the suspect’s motorcycle and a medical examination of the victim also tested positive for rape.
The suspect is now facing rape charges and is detained at the Victorias City Police Station./WDJ
