The Negros Island Region (NIR) is encountering problems with accommodations for the upcoming Palarong Pambansa 2017 in Antique.
Currently, Tobias Fomier Catholic School and Dao Catholic High School will be providing accommodations for the NIR delegation, however, both locations are 28 kilometers away from the hosting venue, the Binirayan Sports Complex.
NIR coaches say the travel time would not be suitable for the student-athletes.
Both the Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao and the Cordillera Autonomous Region are being housed one kilometer from the sports complex, while the Bicol Region will be four kilometers away.
Meanwhile, Region 10 will be housed at the St. Augustine’s Academy of Patnongon, 30 kilometers away, while Cagayan Valley Region (Region 2) and defending over-all champions the National Capital Region (NCR) will be staying at locations 42 kilometers away./WDJ
