Around 46 supposed barkers were picked up in a joint operation by the Bacolod Traffic Authority Office (BTAO) and the Bacolod City Police Office-Traffic Management Unit (BCPO-TMU) across different parts of the city, yesterday morning.
BTAO chief, Police Superintendent Luisito Acebuche, said they conducted the operation after receiving several complaints from drivers that they were being threatened by the barkers.
In response to the complaint, authorities launched an operation which resulted to their arrest.
The barkers are facing charges of violating the city’s anti-barker ordinance, along with extortion./WDJ
