Newly-appointed Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) head Edgardo Rostata assured they will act on the problems plaguing the Northern Negros Natural Park (NNNP).
In a radio interview yesterday, Rostata said his office will review what has to be done regarding structures built inside the NNNP, after a cease and desist order was issued last year.
He explained, whatever the result, he will present it before the Protected Area Management Board (PAMB) of the NNNP.
The Department of Environment and Natural Resources-Negros Island Region (DENR-NIR) previously surveyed the NNNP to determine who can reside in the area and who will pay fines and penalties for occupying the natural park.
DENR-NIR director Al Orolfo, earlier, gave marching orders to Rostata to resolve the issues of the NNNP after replacing Andres Untal as PENRO head./WDJ
