Barangay Tanod gunned down by neighbor in Moises Padilla

A barangay tanod was reportedly gunned down by a neighbor in Barangay 3 Poblacion, Moises Padilla, Saturday.
Police identified the fatality as 35-year-old Joel Olivares, a resident of the said barangay.
Moises Padilla town police chief, Police Senior Inspector Alan Reloj, said the victim was drunk when he was arguing with the suspect’s father.
The suspect, 20-year-old Jeried Labiga, allegedly shot Olivares a total nine times using an improvised shotgun.
Olivares died on the scene, while Labiga later surrendered to police.
Reloj added both sides did not have any prior feuds and the incident was only a result of a misunderstanding.
Labiga is facing homicide charges and is detained at the Moises Padilla Municipal Police Station./WDJ
