Three people are confirmed dead, while three others were injured, following a road collision between a sedan and a tricycle at Bangga San Dionisio Highway, Barangay Granada, Bacolod City, Saturday morning.
Police identified the fatalities as Joecel Demapula, Roy Caballero, and Joseph Lumangyao, the tricycle driver. The wounded, meanwhile, were identified as Elmer Dela Torre, James Siason, Stephine Basoy, and Adrian Mandaue.
Traffic investigator, Police Officer 3 (PO3) Mark Villaluz, said the victims were traveling towards Barangay Granada when they were bumped by a Toyota Vios sedan, driven by 19-year-old college student Renz John Gabitana.
The car was following the tricycle when the accident occurred.
Demapula died on the scene, while the other victims were rushed to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH), where Caballero and Lumangyao later died of their injuries.
Villaluz added Gabitana was drunk during the incident and could face the charge of vehicular manslaughter. He is currently detained at Police Station 5./WDJ
