Slain doctor honored by DOH

Dr. Dreyfuss Perlas, the 31-year-old doctor who was gunned down last week in Lanao Del Norte, was posthumously awarded the Bayani ng Kalusugan honor by the Department of Health (DOH) over the weekend.

Dr. Dreyfuss Perlas, the 31-year-old doctor who was gunned down last week in Lanao Del Norte, was posthumously awarded the Bayani ng Kalusugan honor by the Department of Health (DOH) over the weekend.
His body was transported to his hometown, Kalibo, Aklan, over the weekend.
“Dr. Perlas’ passion, commitment, and dedication to helping the poorest of the sick in a place far from his native province of Aklan will be remembered as his legacy of selfless public service to his fellow Filipinos,” said in a statement by the University of the Philippines-Visayas, where Perlas graduated high school.
Meanwhile, the West Visayas State University-School of Medicine alumni association said, “We salute your sacrifices and mission to be of service to the underserved.”/WDJ
