During the first regular meeting of the Negros Occidental Provincial Development Council (PDC), yesterday, at the Nature’s Village Resort in Talisay City, a series of resolutions in relation to proposed infrastructure projects were approved.
According to PDC Infrastructure Development Committee chair Frank Carbon, the proposals include making San Carlos City, Sagay City, and Hinoba-an Sub-Provincial Key Development Centers for Negros Island Region (NIR); along with an inter-provincial road connecting Sagay City, Toboso, Calatrava, and Don Salvador Benedicto.
Meanwhile, PDC Secretary and Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator, Dr. Ma. Lina Sanogal, presented their argument for the retention of NIR, which had previously been sent to the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)./WDJ
