During the recent meeting of the City Peace and Order Council (CPOC), Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) Director, Police Senior Superintendent Jack Wanky, said police are in their final stages of preparation for the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit, which is set to hold meetings in Bacolod City from March 21 to 24.
He said police will be conducting table top and simulation exercises, part of a dry run from the airport involving different task groups that will also be utilized to test their communication system.
“Logistics is one of the major challenges in our preparations,” said Wanky. “We have to devise a system to make do with what we have.”
Meanwhile, Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia, who chairs the council, said the security of the delegates is of the “utmost importance.”/WDJ
