With Ceres-Negros FC scheduled to face Singaporean side Tampines Rovers FC in the 2017 AFC Cup group stage next week, March 7, at the Panaad Park and Stadium, Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr. and Vice Governor Jose Eugenio Lacson urged Negrenses to support the local club.
Marañon said Negrenses need to “stand behind the home team,” while Lacson said the presence of supporters will be a big boost for the club.
“Ceres-Negros is a strong team, but with us behind them, it makes them stronger,” the vice governor said.
In their group stage opener, Ceres drew 1-1 with Hà Nội FC of Vietnam./WDJ
