A 66-year-old German national was found dead inside his rented room at Barangay 2 in Negros Occidental’s Sipalay City, with police initially ruling out foul play.

Sipalay police said the victim’s body was discovered by his landlady at around 7:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 28, inside his rented room in Purok 3.

The victim was rushed to the Sipalay City Primary Care Facility, where the attending physician declared him dead on arrival.

Initial examination found no external injuries on the victim’s body.

Investigators also gathered information indicating that the man had been bedridden for an extended period due to acute coronary syndrome.

Authorities said there were no initial signs of foul play, and the circumstances are consistent with a natural death.

Police are awaiting the issuance of the appropriate medical certification to formally determine the cause of death./CCJ, WDJ
