The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) seized approximately P4.593 million worth of shabu during a weeklong operation, which resulted in the arrest of 15 drug suspects.

BCPO records showed that from June 15 to 21, a total of 13 drug buy-bust operations were conducted, leading to the seizure of 675.5 grams of shabu.

All suspects have been charged with violations of Republic Act No. 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

During the same period, nine individuals with pending arrest warrants were apprehended, including one most-wanted person and eight others charged with various offenses.

As part of its campaign against illegal firearms under the Philippine National Police’s Oplan Katok program, the BCPO received six surrendered firearms.

Police also conducted six operations against illegal gambling, resulting in the arrest of 15 suspects for violations of Presidential Decrees Nos. 1602 and 449.

Authorities confiscated P1,679 in bet money during these operations.

BCPO Director Eugene Rebadomia commended the operating units and their personnel for their efforts in combating all forms of criminality.

Rebadomia also directed all police station commanders to intensify visibility patrols to help prevent the activities of lawless elements within their respective areas of jurisdiction./MAP, WDJ
