The Batangas City Tanduay Athletics continued their impressive run in the 2026 Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) Season, overwhelming the Negros Hacienderos, 119-92, at the One Arena in Cainta, Rizal.
The victory extended Batangas’ winning streak to eight games and improved its record to 10-2, further strengthening its position in the league standings.
The Athletics took control early and never looked back, building a commanding 54-20 advantage before cruising to the lopsided win.
Batangas’s balanced attack saw six players score in double figures, led by Rhinwill Yambing.
Yambing paced the Athletics with 23 points, highlighted by five three-pointers, while also adding two assists.
John Ambuldot contributed 18 points and eight rebounds, while Cedric Ablaza chipped in 16 points, four rebounds and three assists.
Abdul Sawat delivered an all-around performance with 14 points, eight assists, five rebounds, and three steals.
Jhan Nermal and Mark Niel Cruz added 10 points apiece to help Batangas maintain its offensive momentum throughout the contest.
Negros struggled to keep pace and fell to 1-10 on the season.
Michael Alvarez led the Hacienderos with 20 points, five rebounds and two assists.
Rey Ygot added 17 points, four assists and two rebounds, while Wilson Baltazar finished with 16 points, four assists and two rebounds.
Achie Inigo also made his presence felt for Negros, posting 13 points, eight assists, four rebounds, and two steals in the losing effort.
