Defending champion Abra Solid North Weavers continued their dominant run in the 2026 MPBL Season, overwhelming the Negros Hacienderos, 122-81, at the Quezon City District 2 Gymnasium over the weekend.
Abra controlled the game from start to finish and never allowed Negros to threaten, cruising to its seventh consecutive victory and improving to 9-1 in the round-robin elimination phase of the 28-team tournament.
The Weavers showcased their offensive depth with several players contributing to a balanced attack.
Georell Gonzales led the charge with 23 points, including seven three-pointers, while adding two rebounds.
His performance earned him Best Player of the Game honors.
Encho Serrano paced Abra in scoring with 25 points, while Drex delos Reyes recorded a double-double of 17 points and 16 rebounds.
Last season’s Rookie of the Year Raven Gonzales chipped in 16 points and eight rebounds; Jake Figueroa contributed 15 points, five rebounds, two assists, and two steals; and hometown standout Josh Asuncion added 10 points and six rebounds.
Abra’s relentless offense pushed the margin to as much as 54 points, 108-54, before the final buzzer.
Negros fell to 1-8 despite a strong effort from Carl Joshua Alattica, who posted 26 points, 12 rebounds and four assists.
Michael Alvarez added 17 points, while Wilson Baltazar finished with 11 points and six rebounds./ASC, WDJ
