A 21-year-old motorcycle rider died after figuring in a lone-vehicle accident along the national highway at Barangay Sampinit in Negros Occidental’s Bago City late Tuesday night, June 2.
“Dreyk,” a resident of Barangay Poblacion’s Purok Balinghoy in the city, was driving his motorcycle at 11:52 p.m. in Purok Mainuswagon, Bago police said.
Initial police investigation showed that the victim was travelling from Barangay Poblacion when he reportedly lost control of the vehicle, causing it to swerve onto the right shoulder of the road and crash into a concrete roadside structure.
The motorcycle sustained damage to its front portion.
The injured rider was rushed to the Bago City Hospital for emergency treatment.
However, he was later declared dead while undergoing medical care.
Police said the victim was not in possession of a driver’s license at the time of the accident.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash./CCJ, WDJ
