The remains of a 35-year-old man were discovered with a gunshot wound in a remote area of Negros Occidental’s Toboso town on Saturday morning, May 30.
The victim, identified as “Roel,” was found dead at around 6:00 a.m. along the roadside in Sitio Hayangon in Barangay Magticol.
He was a resident of Barangay Bandila’s Sitio Winaswasan in the town.
Toboso police said initial examination revealed that he sustained a gunshot wound on the upper left portion of his head.
The remains will undergo a post-mortem examination to determine further details surrounding the cause of death.
As of this writing, authorities have yet to identify the suspect or establish the motive behind the killing.
