Police authorities confiscated an estimated P14.28 million worth of suspected shabu and arrested two alleged drug personalities during a pre-dawn anti-illegal drug operation in Bacolod City’s Barangay 3 on Saturday, May 23.

Operatives conducted the buy-bust operation at 2:59 a.m. in Purok Camonsil that resulted in the arrest of 29-year-old alias “John,” a high-value individual, and 34-year-old alias “Mark,” a street-level individual.

Police said the suspects were apprehended immediately after a drug transaction was completed.

Recovered were around 2,100 grams of suspected shabu, including the sachet sold to an undercover operative and several additional packs allegedly found in the possession of the suspects.

Authorities also seized P1,000 worth of marked money, P119,000 in boodle money, and a backpack believed to have been used in the transaction.

Investigators said the operation stemmed from weeks of surveillance and intelligence monitoring targeting the suspects’ alleged illegal drug activities in the city.

The two suspects are currently detained at Police Station 2 while charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act are being prepared against them./CJ, WDJ
