De La Salle University (DLSU) stars Negrense Angel Canino, Shevana Laput, Amie Provido, and Lyka de Leon will return for one final campaign with the Lady Spikers in UAAP Season 89, ending speculation about the future of the team’s veteran core following their championship run in Season 88.

The announcement was made during the team’s courtesy call with DLSU President Bro. Bernard Oca FSC, according to a social media post by campus publication The LaSallian yesterday.

The confirmation came just days after Canino revealed that the Lady Spikers’ seniors were still undecided about their plans after winning the UAAP Season 88 women’s volleyball title.

Canino, Laput, Provido, and De Leon all played vital roles throughout the unbeaten campaign, forming the core of a veteran-loaded roster that overwhelmed opponents with experience, depth and composure.

With the four seniors officially returning, the Lady Spikers are expected to remain one of the top contenders for the UAAP Season 89 crown as they pursue a back-to-back championship bid under coach Ramil de Jesus./ASC, WDJ
