A brief misunderstanding between city enforcement units and village officials from Bacolod City’s Barangay 12 during a clearing operation along Rizal Street has been resolved amicably, Mayor Greg Gasataya said.

The incident occurred on Thursday morning, April 16, involving the City Legal Office (CLO) Enforcement Team and the Bacolod Traffic and Transportation Management Department (BTTMD), headed by Atty. Reuben Mikhail Sabig, and Barangay 12 Punong Barangay JR Alcantara.

According to Gasataya, the issue stemmed from a communication gap regarding coordination procedures for road clearing and traffic management.

The situation was promptly addressed through a consultation among the parties involved.

Following the discussion, both city agencies and barangay officials reached a mutual understanding on the proper protocols, particularly the need for securing permits, ensuring complete documentation, and maintaining close coordination with traffic authorities before implementing road closures.

Alcantara acknowledged the importance of complying with existing city regulations to avoid similar incidents in the future.

The resolution reflects a commitment to collaboration, with the CLO and BTTMD assuring Barangay 12 of continued technical support and guidance./CJ, WDJ
