The Land Transportation Office in the Negros Island Region (LTO-NIR) has terminated several job order personnel following separate incidents involving alleged illegal “fixing” of official transactions.

Authorities said the decision forms part of the agency’s intensified internal campaign against corruption and unauthorized facilitation of transactions within its offices.

LTO-NIR officer-in-charge Regional Director Jeck Conlu confirmed that immediate administrative action was taken against those implicated, stressing that the agency will not tolerate any form of misconduct in its ranks.

He said the move is consistent with the national directive promoting a “zero corruption” policy under LTO leadership, led by Chief Assistant Secretary Markus Lacanilao.

Lacanilao has earlier emphasized stricter enforcement measures aimed at eliminating fixers and improving public trust in land transportation services.

Conlu further ordered the immediate termination of a job order employee found involved in one of the reported incidents, underscoring that accountability will be enforced regardless of position or employment status.

The LTO-NIR also reminded the public to avoid dealing with unauthorized individuals and to conduct all transactions only through official personnel or accredited LTO offices to ensure legitimate and secure processing of documents and services./CJ, WDJ
