A job order (JO) health worker was killed while several others were injured in a vehicular accident at Barangay Rizal in Negros Occidental’s San Carlos City yesterday morning.
Initial information from the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) indicated that a truck carrying personnel from the City Health Office was traveling uphill for a bloodletting activity when it collided with an oncoming truck descending the road along the Upper Ecotranslink Highway in Sitio Punod.
San Carlos police later confirmed that the truck was driven by a 49-year-old male from Escalante City with a 39-year-old male helper from Hinoba-an town.
Another truck was driven by a 35-year-old male resident of San Carlos City.
Among the passengers of the truck were a city health physician, a barangay health aide, a local government employee, and a medical technician.
The JO worker was declared dead on the spot.
All 10 passengers sustained minor and moderate injuries.
All injured victims were immediately transported to San Carlos City Hospital for medical treatment./CJ, WDJ
