Bacolod City Mayor Greg Gasataya clarified that recent administrative actions taken against 12 city government employees were anchored on verified complaints and not influenced by personal motives.

Gasataya stressed that all actions were carried out as part of official duty and in accordance with established procedures.

“This is nothing personal but just part of our job. I don’t run after or hold grudges against anybody. In fact, I don’t even know some of them personally,” Gasataya said.

Among those facing administrative action are two female medical officers from the City Health Office who were issued separate show cause orders for alleged conduct unbecoming of public servants.

Meanwhile, three employees from the General Services Office have been dismissed after being declared absent without official leave.

Gasataya underscored that due process was observed in all cases, noting that complaints and allegations were carefully reviewed before any decisions were made.

He added that such measures are necessary to uphold accountability and improve the delivery of public services in the city.

The mayor also commended city employees and uniformed personnel who remained on duty throughout the Holy Week, recognizing their efforts in ensuring uninterrupted services.

He specifically cited those involved in the distribution of rice assistance to 1,193 traditional and modernized public utility jeepney drivers over the weekend./CJ, WDJ
