San Carlos City emerged as the top-performing team in the Negros Occidental Regional Football Association (NORFA) 2026 Futsal Developmental Festival at the Doña Montserrat Lopez Memorial High School in Negros Occidental’s Silay City.
The tournament wrapped up with a series of championship matches featuring both seasoned players and young prospects, including participants in the Girls 2012 division.
San Carlos secured titles in both the men’s and women’s open categories, underscoring its strength in futsal within Negros Occidental.
Meanwhile, Pamplona de Pontevedra claimed the championship in the Girls 2012 category, highlighting the rise of emerging talent from other municipalities.
The final matches showcased a mix of tactical discipline and endurance, capping off a competitive tournament that drew teams from across the province.
NORFA credited the success of the event to the combined efforts of referees, organizers and the local community.
Officials and referees were recognized for upholding fair play, while organizers ensured smooth scheduling and match coordination throughout the competition.
The futsal festival serves as a continuation of NORFA’s development initiatives, following coaching seminars held earlier this year.
Organizers said the tournament provided valuable insights and scouting opportunities that will help shape future regional selections and training programs./ASC, WDJ
