The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) yesterday urged the public to conserve water as the country enters the dry season.

On March 23, Pagasa officially announced the onset of the warm and dry season, marked by reduced rainfall and higher heat indices.

In an interview on “Bagong Pilipinas Ngayon,” Pagasa senior weather specialist Rosalie Pagulayan said reservoir water levels across the country are manageable.

However, with less rainfall expected in the coming months, she encouraged households to adopt water-saving practices.

“We can contribute to conservation efforts through our own little ways. These small actions can have a significant impact on our overall water resources,” she said.

Among the recommended measures are checking for leaking pipes and turning off faucets when not in use.

“This is not just to reduce water bills, but also to ensure that no water is wasted,” Pagulayan added.

Generally fair weather is expected to prevail nationwide, with gradually warmer days and occasional isolated thunderstorms throughout the dry season.

Pagulayan also noted that below-normal rainfall is likely in most parts of the country in April. (PNA)
