Government offices in Negros Occidental and Bacolod City will implement a work-from-home (WFH) setup on Wednesday, April 1, as part of adjusted schedules for the observance of Holy Week.

In a memorandum order issued yesterday, Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson directed all provincial government employees to work from home from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, with work suspended for the remainder of the day.

The directive follows Office of the President Memorandum Circular No. 116, which aims to give government workers sufficient time to observe key Holy Week events, including Maundy Thursday and Good Friday, April 2 and 3.

Similarly, Bacolod City Mayor Greg Gasataya announced that city government offices will adopt the same arrangement, with employees working remotely in the morning and offices closing in the afternoon, in line with the directive from Malacañang.

Despite the adjusted work schedule, both the provincial and city governments emphasized that offices providing essential services — including health, disaster response, and other critical functions — will continue regular operations to ensure uninterrupted public service./CJ, WDJ
