A 36-year-old man was wounded in a shooting incident outside a Korean restaurant in Purok Liroville in Bacolod City’s Barangay Singcang Airport early yesterday morning.
The victim, identified as alias “Mark,” a resident of Barangay Taculing, was reportedly shot by a 38-year-old resident of Purok Hollow Blocks in Barangay Singcang.
Bacolod Station 8 chief Police Captain Sherwin Galupar said investigators learned that “Mark” was drinking with companions at a nearby store when the suspect, riding a motorcycle, approached and stopped by to warn that he would return before leaving around 5:00 a.m.
When the suspect returned, he reportedly followed the victim, who was riding home as a passenger on a friend’s motorcycle, and suddenly fired at him.
The victim was immediately rushed to the hospital by the motorcycle driver.
Witnesses said they heard three gunshots and that the victim sustained two gunshot wounds to the body from a firearm that has yet to be identified.
Police believe the shooting may have been motivated by a personal grudge or previous conflict between the two men, who were reportedly acquainted.
Galupar confirmed that the victim is now in stable condition.
The suspect remains at large./CJ, WDJ
