The Farm Fresh Foxies ended their struggles in five-set matches after rallying past the Choco Mucho Flying Titans, 21-25, 25-22, 16-25, 25-18, 15-9, in the PVL All-Filipino Conference at the Playtime FilOil Centre in San Juan City on Tuesday night, March 10.
Negrense Maicah Larroza showed her defensive prowess, finishing with 14 excellent digs as the Foxies fought back from a 1-2 set deficit to secure their third win in seven matches.
It was a significant breakthrough for Farm Fresh, which had previously lost five-set matches against the Capital1 Solar Spikers and the PLDT High Speed Hitters.
This time, the Foxies managed to sustain their momentum in the closing stretch to finally come out on top.
Trisha Tubu led the way for the Foxies with 22 points, including six blocks.
Ces Molina added 17 points while completing a triple-double with 13 digs and 13 receptions.
Former Choco Mucho player Honey Royce Tubino finished with 14 points, while Riri Meneses chipped in 10 markers highlighted by two blocks.
Setter Alohi Robins-Hardy orchestrated the offense with 22 excellent sets.
Kat Tolentino and Cherry Rondina paced Choco Mucho with 22 points each, while Eya Laure contributed 15 despite limited playing time.
They slipped to a 3-4 record.
Meanwhile, PLDT moved closer to securing a place in the qualifying round after sweeping the Galeries Tower Highrisers, 25-18, 25-22, 25-17.
Savannah Davison spearheaded the offense with 21 points, while Mika Reyes added 10 markers as the High Speed Hitters stretched their winning streak to three games and improved to a league-best 6-1 record.
PLDT controlled the match from the start, taking the opening set comfortably before overcoming a tighter battle in the second frame.
The High Speed Hitters then pulled away late in the third set to complete the straight-sets victory.
Jean Asis finished with nine points, while Gayle Pascual added eight markers as Galeries Tower slipped to a 2-5 record and remained in ninth place in the standings./CJ, WDJ
