A motorcycle telescopic fork was allegedly used by a father to maul his 17-year-old daughter to death at Barangay Rizal in Negros Occidental’s Sagay City yesterday morning, March 9.

The victim, identified only by alias “Precious,” was a student and resident of Fortuneville Subdivision.

Police identified the suspect as her 41-year-old father alias “Joe.”

Sagay police said the victim’s grandfather reported that “Joe” had forcibly taken the girl into a room inside their house and locked the door.

Responding officers rushed to the residence and found the house quiet.

Police then forcibly opened the door to gain entry.

Inside the room, authorities discovered “Precious” lying bloodied while the suspect was seated on a bed beside her.

The victim was immediately rushed to a hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

Sagay police chief, Lt. Colonel Alvimar Flores said investigators are looking into a possible misunderstanding between the father and daughter as a motive for the attack.

The suspect allegedly told authorities he had repeatedly reprimanded the victim prior to the incident.

Flores added that when he personally spoke with the suspect, the latter gave responses that were reportedly inconsistent and unrelated to the questions being asked.

Family members also told police that “Joe” had not slept for about a week and had been taking medication.

Police said the suspect has no previous criminal record.

It was also learned that the suspect and the victim’s mother were already separated.

“Joe” is currently in police custody while authorities prepare to file a parricide case against him./CJ, WDJ
