Authorities seized more than P790,000 worth of suspected shabu and arrested two high-value individuals in separate anti-drug operations at Barangay Looc in Dumaguete City early Saturday morning, March 7.
The operations resulted in the confiscation of a total of 116.3 grams of suspected shabu.
The first buy-bust operation at 3:51 a.m. in Zone 7 led to the arrest of a 25-year-old suspect, a resident of Zone 2 in the same barangay.
Operatives seized about 50 grams of suspected shabu worth P340,000 from the suspect.
Also recovered were a medium-sized sachet used as the subject of sale, two large sachets containing suspected shabu, a P1,000 bill placed on top of several bogus bills used as buy-bust money, and a black belt bag.
Just minutes later, another operation was carried out in Zone 2 through the implementation of a search warrant for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Authorities arrested a 45-year-old suspect, also tagged as a high-value individual.
Confiscated from his possession were 66.3 grams of suspected shabu valued at P450,840.
Police also recovered 15 elongated sachets and 10 medium-sized sachets containing suspected illegal drugs, an aluminum foil roll, and a small black backpack.
The suspects are currently under police custody and will face charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act./CJ, WDJ
