The Negros Occidental Regional Football Association (NORFA) is set to roll out a province-wide Futsal Developmental Festival following the successful completion of a coaching seminar aimed at strengthening grassroots football in Negros Occidental.

The festival will serve as a practical extension of the Basic Futsal Seminar conducted at Lopez Jaena Elementary School from February 2 to 5.

During the four-day training, accredited coaches worked with local physical education teachers and club coaches to raise the standard of futsal instruction for young athletes in the region.

NORFA General Secretary Augustine Rey “Gus” Rivas and President Jose Miguel Valmayor said the association’s main priority is to improve the quality of coaching across the province as part of its long-term grassroots development program.

To accommodate the expected participation from teams across various cities and municipalities, NORFA will adopt a clustering system that groups participants geographically.

The system is designed to provide accessible venues for teams from both the northern and southern parts of Negros Occidental.

Registration for the festival is now open to interested teams and schools.
