Fifty-four education graduates of Bacolod City College (BCC) from Batch 2025 can now proceed with their applications for the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) after the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) issued a long-awaited special order, effectively resolving months of uncertainty over their eligibility.
The order, released on Thursday afternoon, February 5, authorizes the graduates to take the LET scheduled for September.
Of the total number cleared, 25 are graduates of Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSEd) major in Mathematics, while 29 completed BSEd major in Filipino.
The issuance of the special order removes a major barrier that had delayed their licensure plans, bringing relief to the aspiring teachers who had been waiting for CHED approval to validate their academic credentials.
Mayor Greg Gasataya said the issue was raised as early as August 2025 and required extensive coordination with CHED due to compliance gaps, particularly the absence of qualified academic officials and faculty signatories required for the special order.
He explained that the city government immediately acted to address these deficiencies by securing qualified specialists in mathematics and Filipino, allowing the institution to meet CHED’s standards.
Once compliance was completed, CHED promptly issued the special order, averting possible sanctions on the program and clearing the graduates’ path to licensure.
Gasataya also assured the graduates of continued support from the city government, including review assistance for the upcoming board exam.
The affected graduates welcomed the development, expressing gratitude for the resolution that now allows them to move forward with their professional goals.
With the compliance issues now settled, city officials said future BSEd graduates in mathematics and Filipino will no longer face similar obstacles in taking the LET./CJ, WDJ
