The Rafael B. Lacson Memorial High School (RBLMHS) secondary girls volleyball team captured the provincial championship after a dominant run in the recent interschool tournament at the Montalbo Gym in Bacolod City.
The team, coached by Allen Jane Gumban, was led by Most Valuable Player and Best Outside Hitter Kristel May Mirasol, who also earned Player of the Game honors in the finals.
Other individual awardees from RBLMHS included Seth Meinelle Geanga (Best Opposite Hitter), Sophie Nichole Pamplona (2nd Best Middle Blocker), Crisyl Joy Batayen (Best Setter), and team captain Yvaine Lianne Magbanua (Best Libero).
The championship roster includes Marvie Magbanua, Rica Joy Andres, Crisyl Joy Batayen, Zyah Shane Catuburan, Jay Ann Clavecillas, Zyann Miel Dato-on, Yvaine Lianne Demi, Michaella Jean Mendoza, Kristel May Mirasol, Sophie Nichole Pamplona, Trycie Valiente, Quitana Kheona de Jesus, Seth Meinelle Geanga, and Kim Gigato.
The team is supported by assistant coach Nerissa Benjamin, chaperone Christine de la Cruz, and trainers TePai Ortencio and Jero Torico, Jr.
With the provincial crown secured, RBLMHS will now represent their division in earning a berth in the Negros Island Regional Athletic Association (NIRAA) Meet, where they will face the top school teams from across Negros Island./ASC, WDJ
