A one-year-old girl died while two other passengers were injured after a tricycle figured in an accident at Barangay Daga in Negros Occidental’s Cadiz City on Tuesday morning, January 28.
Based on the police report, a tricycle driven by a 29-year-old man identified only as “Jun,” was traveling from Barangay Andres Bonifacio toward Barangay Luna when the mishap happened in Hacienda Balandra 2 at 7:40 a.m.
Cadiz police said the front fender of the tricycle got stuck on its front wheel, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle.
The tricycle overturned, throwing the driver and his two passengers onto the cemented road.
The injured included the driver and a 45-year-old female passenger.
Both, along with the minor, were rushed to Cadiz District Hospital for medical treatment.
However, the one-year-old child was declared dead on arrival.
All the victims are residents of Barangay Andres Bonifacio in Cadiz.
The driver and the tricycle were brought to the Cadiz Police Station for proper disposition, while further investigation into the incident is ongoing./CJ, WDJ
